About the NCT Open
The NCT Open is designed to test your general chemistry knowledge. The exam covers topics typically found in a first-year chemistry course, including:
- Atomic Structures & Periodicity
- Stoichiometry & Solutions
- Bonding & Molecular Structures
- Kinetics
- IMFs & States of Matter
- Equilibrium
- Electrochemistry
- Thermodynamics
- Descriptive & Laboratory
- Organic/Biochemistry
Two Divisions
Divisions are based on your chemistry coursework. All participants take the same exam, but scores are ranked within each division separately.
For Students New to Chemistry
For students who have NOT completed and are NOT currently enrolled in AP Chemistry or equivalent courses.
Perfect for:
- Freshmen and sophomores
- Students in honors chemistry (non-AP)
- Students in regular chemistry
For AP-Level Chemistry Students
For students currently enrolled in OR who have completed AP Chemistry or equivalent courses.
